A History of Caring

Established in 1958 on the site of the Carothers family farm, Valley Memorial Park Cemetery and Funeral Home encompasses 40 acres, of which 15 acres are developed area, and a spectacular 6-acre horseshoe-shaped lake. We are proud to be recognized as the first Green Burial Cemetery in Oregon certified by the Green Burial Council. With 14 gardens including traditional burial spaces, cremation gardens, lawn crypts, mausoleum crypts, cremation niches, and lakefront estates, Valley has the perfect option for your family’s wishes.

One of the most interesting and most asked about features of our Park are our Memorial Columns – a natural Basalt column set at lakeside on the peninsula. This location is the ideal setting to memorialize those whose remains have been scattered on our lake or for families that have scattered loved ones elsewhere.

Valley was specifically designed to provide practical and meaningful memorial services. We offer a full range of services from traditional funerals to simple direct cremation, including preparation for Green Burial and scattering of ashes in our lake with lakeside memorial services.

Greg Clark
Family Service Advisor

Greg is honored to be serving Hillsboro, the surrounding communities, and the families that live here as a Family Service Advisor with Valley Memorial Park and Funeral Home. He has lived his entire life in the greater Portland area, including SW Portland, Beaverton, and the Rock Creek area, so having the opportunity to serve the communities so close to his home is truly a privilege.

Through several years of experience in the industry, he has gained the knowledge and expertise needed to guide families through an often difficult and unfamiliar process, ensuring their questions are answered and their needs are met. It is his hope to be able to inform as many families as possible about the availability and importance of preplanning so that they – and their loved ones – don’t have to go through that process unprotected and unprepared.


John Gruber
Administrative Assistant

John Gruber is an administrative assistant with Valley Memorial Park, Hillsboro, Oregon. He works behind the scenes to verify and record the significant data for our families.

John understands the importance of these duties since he has previously served as a Family Service Advisor assisting families both for pre arrangements and at the time of need for a family.

John earned a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology from Wayne State University in Detroit, MI.
