Betty Lorene Boyce

1/11/1928 – 11/27/2018

Betty Boyce passed away peacefully on 11/27/2018 with family at her side.  She is survived by four children, Jay, Dan, Margi & Kathi, by 5 grandchildren and by 8 great-grandchildren.

Betty was born in Selah, Washington and grew up around Western Washington. She met her husband, Jeff, of 46 years, in Sitka, Alaska. Jeff and Betty raised their family near the Renton airfield & in Santa Maria, California.

After Jeff passed away and after 50 years in Santa Maria, she moved to Santa Rosa, California, to Olympia, Washington, and to lastly to Portland, Oregon.  She made friends everywhere.  She found love again late in life with Dave Gowans and acquired two more honorary children, Ed & Susie, who live in Portland.

Betty accomplished so many things during her life that we’d be hard-pressed to recount them all in a few thousand words.  Raising four kids, running a small business, earning her Master’s, teaching teachers about computers, showing antique MGs, writing textbooks, supporting motivational training, completing three marathons… and several thousand more fabulous accomplishments! 

We will miss her, as we’re sure everyone who knew her, will.  Her impact will live on through us all.
