Obituary of Carlyn Anne Roussel Ramsay

Carlyn Anne Roussel Ramsay, 72, returned to her heavenly home on March 13, 2020 after a valiant battle with a long illness. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her and ultimately gave her peace. Carlyn was born to the late Clarence and Georgine Hymel Roussel in Wallace, Saint John the Baptist, Louisiana on August 27, 1947. From an early age she loved animals, gardening and being outdoors. Carlyn was blessed with a loving family. She married Richard Ramsay August 1969 in Saint John the Baptist, Louisiana. They raised 3 children with patience, discipline and love in McAlester, Oklahoma; New Orleans, Louisiana; and setting down roots in Aloha, Oregon in 1977. Carlyn was a kind, lovely woman with a big heart and infectious smile. She was a kid at heart who loved to inspire the creativity of her children, grandchildren and those around her. Was passionate about gardening, animals, music and her family. Carlyn is survived by her husband of 50 years, Richard, daughter Tina (Lance) Hobbs of Warrenton, Oregon and sons Richard Ramsay II of Beaverton, Oregon and Shane (Kyra) Ramsay of Aloha, Oregon; her grandchildren Stephanie Minoli, Aleah Hobbs, Victoria Leek, Dustan Ramsay, Kaitlyn Johnson, Ashley Ramsay, Noah Ramsay, Autumn Ramsay and Austin Ramsay; her great grandson Jayden Kim; her sister Gayle Duet of Mandeville, Louisiana; her nephew John Paul Duet and niece Cynthia Duet; and many extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents. A Celebration of Carlyn’s Life will be announced in the near future.
