Obituary of Timothy Michael Frank

Timothy Michael “Chef Tim” Frank, June 8, 1954 to July 12, 2020. A banquet table among the stars was set in honor of Chef Tim, 66, in the pleasant morning of the 12th day of July, 2020. Chef Tim passed from our world peacefully and comfortably, kissed by a light breeze wafting through the window, surrounded by friends, family and a grumble of Pugs in his home near Forest Grove, Oregon. Sadly, he departed too soon to fulfill his dream of voting the Idiot-In-Chief out of the White House. Chef Tim was a person of great heart and spirit, who served others through his kindness and compassion. He was well-known and loved by many residents and perhaps thousands of vacationers in Ketchikan and Fairbanks, Alaska before retirement took him to Oregon. There, he loved spending a morning now and again in a Portland coffee shop with a pastry and a cup of coffee to read the New Yorker or chat about the day’s news. He also loved to tell stories of his life. It has been suggested by some that perhaps a small few of those tales may have been at least partially true. Chef Tim also loved to sing the songs he had listened to with his mother so many years ago. It is not known if others around him enjoyed his singing nearly as much as he did, but about that nobody is willing to comment. Chef Tim was preceded in death by his father, Owen Frank, his beloved mother, Kathryn R “Cindy” (O’Neill) Frank, his brother, Tracy Frank, and his life-long confidant Wilma. Chef Tim is survived by his siblings Terry Frank, Tom Frank, Tammy Frank, Theresa Sanchez, Tina Kane, Toni Shadden and his favorite sister (shh! Don’t tell anyone!), Trisha Hayes. Also surviving him are his “work wife” Meghan Popley, dear friend and confidant Rex Vicek, many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, family friend and caregiver Amanda Goffic and her sons, and a very peculiar Pug named Wink. No Mass or public memorial is planned. Chef Tim’s cremains will be quietly interred near the house on the farm and a willow planted on the location in accordance with his wishes. We regret to inform you that the kitchen is now closed.
