Obituary of Camillie Astrolabio Storm

Camillie Astrolabio Storm, 46, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 3, 2021 from her 5-year battle with cancer. Camille was born on September 15, 1974, in Cotabato City to the late Wilfredo Dela Cruz Astrolabio and Carmen Narboneta Bacarisas. She was the eldest of four children. Camille lived with her family in the Philippines until 1998. She moved to the US and married the late Tom Storm on February 14, 1999 and was blessed with a beautiful daughter, Sophia Fire Storm. She was an amazing and devoted mother to Sophia, who was the most important part of her life and whom she loved very much. She was a hard-working, passionate figure of strength who never waned in her support or love for Sophia, and who soldiered on even when times were tough. She was an incredible role model who had always encouraged Sophia to be herself and fulfill her dreams. Camille loved being a Registered Nurse. During her time at the Oregon State Hospital, she worked very hard to help those struggling with mental illness. Her time working with Oregon’s Trauma Care System also challenged her to find solutions to better improve patient care. Camille’s career as a nurse allowed her to use her gift of compassion. She genuinely lived her life to make a difference in the lives of so many. Camille was an inspiration to her siblings and friends. She was very generous and a good provider to her family. Camille was a beautiful person inside and out. She was very passionate at what she believed in and did not hesitate to speak her mind. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her daughter Sophia, mom Carmen, brothers and sisters Mia and Cristopher, Gener and Rubelyn, Dennis and Hapi, nephews Archie, Wewil and Zyn, and relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Sophia’s trust for her college education. A viewing will be held 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at the Valley Memorial Park Funeral Home, 3929 SE Tualatin Valley Hwy, Hillsboro, OR 97123 Eulogies Ate Camille was a woman gifted with beauty and intelligence. She was always a faith person who believed that everything came possible because of the Almighty God. We are very proud of her achievements, especially when she was admitted to an accelerated program at Oregon Health and Science University and finished her Bachelor of Nursing in 15 months as a cum laude. She officially became a registered nurse in 2010. From then on, she never failed to fulfill her dreams and a good provider to her family. She would surprise you with instantaneous things you could ever dream of. It was disheartening that despite her best, she was diagnosed with cancer in 2016. She put up a fight as a cancer warrior for five years. Indeed Ate Camille was great happiness and an absolute godsend to her family, who will be forever loved and cherished. (Mia Astrolabio Dionglay) Camillie is a bombastic storyteller with her very expressive eyes. She captivated my attention back in high school. True to life stories or stories we make while watching the clouds, the grasses, or in the middle of the night scaring each other in the dark. The stories grew with our lives. In rare times that we would be on the phone for so many moments, just engrossed in narrating our experiences, our lives, our challenges. Much more amazing than her story is her strength of character, clarity in thought, and no matter what challenges she is in her life, she comes out graceful, beautiful and a winner inside. What a beautiful person she is inside and out. Even in her weakest moments, she comes off so strong. (Caroline Marie Jaraula) Camillie lived life on her own terms and she also left peacefully on her own terms. She was passionate about everything that she set out to do. She was a giver, a mother and a very good friend who made you laugh in the midst of her pain. She reminded us to keep on swimming even when the current is against us. To keep the faith even when the odds are against you. (Pilar Pichon Zentil) Cam, you were such a brave soul from the beginning that I met you, even when we were younger. You were full of love and always been an inspiration. You were a stature of beauty inside and out. Your daughter will definitely get that from you and she will be your legacy to the world. Thank you for the gift of example and the gift of readiness and bravery. Never has it been an easy path but you always stood tall. (Emmylou Mari)
