Sally Margiotta

Obituary of Sally Jo Margiotta

Sally Jo Margiotta (Crandall) June 18, 1952 – March 12, 2022 We mourn the loss of a wonderful woman who was a Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Sister. Sally was born in Hillsboro, Oregon to parents Howard H. Crandall and Mary C. Crandall. She passed at the age of 69 in Lebanon, Oregon surrounded by family at the Sweet Bees Care Home. As a child and young adult, Sally was an active member of Calvary Lutheran Church. She served as a Sunday School Teacher, ran the youth ministry, and also worked as the Church Secretary. Sally had many creative talents, music was one of them. At six years old she started piano lessons, and by the time she entered High School, Sally was teaching piano to the younger generation. Her many talents were used to serve the Lord in the choir, and sing with her brothers for special events like weddings. After high school, Sally used her earnings from annual berry picking, and teaching piano to travel all over. While traveling Sally met Sam and Lou Kleinsasser, who were evangelists that invited her to join them in serving the Lord through music. Traveling to far-off places like Europe and the Middle East (Holy Lands) was a passion for Sally. After some time working with Sam and Lou, Sally started working for the Church as a Secretary and also for her Aunt and Uncle’s moving/storage company. Sally married Ronald V. Margiotta on October 4, 1986 and raised two children Vincent and Catherina. Around this time Sally worked at OK Floral in Downtown Forest Grove making flower arrangements for all occasions. After many years of being a florist, she went back to school and earned an Associate’s Degree to teach elementary students reading at the Hillsboro School District. Eventually, Sally retired from the school district to enjoy a relaxing retirement with her family. A few years after retirement Sally was diagnosed with Corticobasal Degeneration (CBD). She fought the disease for several years. During which time she took trips with her husband and spent lots of time with her family. Over the last year, Sally was under the care of Naomi at Sweet Bees Care Home receiving the absolute best care. Family and friends visited and gave her all their love until she ultimately passed from CBD. Sally was preceded in death by her parents Howard and Mary Crandall. Surviving is Ronald V. Margiotta, Vincent J. Margiotta married to Lisa, and their daughter Serena, Catherina M. Ocenosak married to Rob. Sally will be forever missed and will stay in the hearts of all her family, friends, and people she touched in their lives.
