Obituary of Consuelo Garcia Rodriguez

It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of our beloved mother, Consuelo Garcia Rodriguez, of Forest Grove, Oregon. She peacefully passed away, surrounded by family, on Saturday, March 26, 2022. Consuelo was born on October 26, 1929, in Corpus Christi, TX to Librada and Isidro Garcia. As a young girl, she enjoyed dancing and playing dress up. In 1949, she met Ernesto Rodriguez Sr., and they began their life together. Connie and Ernesto had six children and they enjoyed over 50 years of marriage before Ernesto went home to be with the Lord. She was a wonderful and loving mother who gave her all to her family. We will never be able to fill the space left behind by her. Connie has been a resident of Forest Grove, OR for nearly 30 years. She made so many wonderful friends that filled her days with laughter and love. Even at 92 years old, she loved to cook for her family and friends, and she loved to garden. She was nothing short of amazing – she was intelligent, strong, and always funny. Our family was blessed to have her as our mother, our leader and she will be missed forever. Connie was preceded in death by her husband Ernesto Rodriguez Sr., her son Chale Rodriguez, brother Jose Garcia, sisters Maria Garcia de Olivares and Rosalva Lerma, her granddaughters Robin Brown and Lupe Gonzalez. She is survived by her sisters Socorro Garza and Ofelia Pacheco and her brother Juan Garcia. Her children: Teresa Brown, Fred Rodriguez, Linda Apodaca, Ernesto Rodriguez Jr., Mark Rodriguez, and Taquito (dog), 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter. Consuelo had a large and loving family.
