Obituary of Barbara Anne Kraft

Memorial Services and Celebration of Life for Barbara “Baba” A. Kraft, 77, a resident of Hillsboro will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 15, 2018 at Valley Memorial Park, 3929 SE Tualatin Valley Hwy, Hillsboro, OR. Visitation will precede services starting at 1:00 p.m. Mrs. Kraft passed away Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Tuality Hospital after a brief illness. Barbara A. Kraft was born November 30, 1940 in Spokane, Washington the daughter of Melvin and Ethel Gross. She was united in marriage to Ronald L. Kraft on April 10, 1963 in Spokane, Washington. He preceded her in death on November 1, 2010. They were married for 47 wonderful years. Barbara graduated in 1958 from Rogers High School in Spokane. She worked in the billing department for Medical Service Corporation and Sacred Heart Medical Center for more than 30 years. Barbara loved the outdoors, a love that she acquired early in life camping in the Northwest with her parents. Her love for the outdoors continued with her husband and three boys with trips all over the West and Canada. Their many trips started with tent camping, then a camper, and finally a motor home. They purchased a boat and spent many summers with family and friends on Lake Roosevelt near Spokane. After retiring, Mr. and Mrs. Kraft purchased a 5th wheel trailer and spent winters traveling the Southwest including Mexico. They continued to enjoy summers at Lake Roosevelt with friends and family, especially their grandchildren. After Mr. Kraft passed away she continued to enjoy the outdoors camping, spending time on the Oregon Coast, and going on drives through the Cascades. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were truly the light of her life. She is survived by her children; Ray Spurrier of Hillsboro, OR and Mike Kraft of Mesa, AZ, 4 loving grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and a brother, Gary Gross, Spokane, WA. She is also survived by a niece and 2 nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Gary Kraft in 2009.
