Obituary of Roger Allen Hecker

Roger was born in Portland Oregon. He is the youngest son of Henry and Gladys Hecker, and younger brother of Gordon Hecker. After receiving his GED from Beaverton High School, Roger enlisted in the US Navy during WWII working as a machinist aboard a merchant ship. After serving his country, and receiving an Honorable Discharge from the Navy, Roger worked on the Portland docks as a Longshoreman for over 30 years. Roger survived his wife of 58 years, Edna Ruth Hecker. Roger is survived by his daughter Diane Leikas, son Allen Hecker, son-in-law Roger Leikas, daughter-in-law Ida Hecker, and grandchildren Kayla, Ryan, Jadeyn, and Taytum Hecker, great-grandson Noah Martinez (father Luis Martinez). Roger will be most remembered by his family and friends for his honesty, dependability, and humor. Service Information
