Robert Hoey

Obituary of Robert Allen Hoey

On Thursday, September 14, 2017, Robert passed away after a nine-year battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, John. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Linda Hoey, his daughters Jacque Hoey and Kim Hoey, stepchildren, Jay Cloud and Michelle MacLean, five granddaughters Briana MacLean, Kelsey Hoey, Chelsea Linn, Natasha Alday, and Michaela MacLean, and four great-grandchildren Elizabeth and William Hamm and Braaden and Layton Suarez. Robert was born in Laconia, New Hampshire to John and Yvonne Hoey. He moved from New Hampshire as a young boy to Massachusetts, to Huntington Beach, CA, and then to Tucson, Arizona. He lived in Tucson for 40 years. In 1993, he and Linda moved to Oregon. Bob worked as a dispensing optician for most of his working life, then worked doing grounds keeping and as a handyman. Robert will be missed and remembered for his love, eagerness to lend a hand, funny wit, storytelling, ability to fix anything, as a tinkerer and hard worker, and was always the last to complain. There is a very large hole in the hearts of all of us who love and knew him. He was the salt of the Earth. Service Information
